New Resources for Coaching and Mentoring

Be With Resources provides proven mentoring resources to help train and equip youth pastors, volunteers, middle and high school students, and parents.

We worked to create a mentoring resource strategy that will help build a foundation of mentoring in your ministry. Our core resources focus on personal character (Inside Game) and leadership - spiritual disciplines (Outside Game). Be With Resources also recommends other resources to help facilitate spiritual transformation in the life of Christ followers of all ages.

Mentoring Strategy to Reach a Generation for Christ through Coaching and Mentoring:

STEP ONE - MENTOR & TRAIN VOLUNTEER YOUTH WORKERS

BE WITH PLAYBOOK & JOURNAL

FOR MENTORING VOLUNTEER YOUTH WORKERS BY BO BOSHERS

The proven mentoring process that has been used to help mentor youth leaders around the country is now available to help you train and mentor volunteer youth workers on how to become mentors to students in your youth ministry. These eight devotions and lessons written for volunteer youth workers will not only sharpen their own personal commitment to follow Christ but will model and train them how to take what they have learned and model and mentor READY junior high and high school students in your ministry.

STEP TWO - MENTOR READY STUDENTS

BE WITH MENTORING PLAYBOOK & JOURNAL

FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BY BO BOSHERS

Once your volunteers have completed the eight mentoring devotions and sessions in the volunteer playbook they are now trained and equipped to take the same lessons written for students to mentor them in personal character and spiritual disciplines. The mentoring playbook and journal is written for students who are READY to be mentored!

STEP THREE - KEEP MENTORING! Additional recommended resources:

Here are three suggested strategies for using the Volunteer Playbook, and Journal, to train your volunteers.

OPTION ONE:

Train six or eight volunteers in a single group that meets once a week for eight weeks. Have them pair up during your training time to go over what they are learning. These groups of two will become peer mentors for encouragement and accountability. They should continue as peer coaches while they mentor students when that time comes.

OPTION TWO:

If you have students who are ready and need mentors more quickly, you can train your volunteers every other week. Then on the weeks you don’t meet, your volunteers will teach the students what you just taught them the week before. This will give them a “learn as you go” opportunity where they can debrief what they are learning and ask questions about their own mentoring every other week with you (and their peer mentors).

OPTION THREE:

Have a one-day training session with your volunteers to go over all eight mentoring sessions. Use the same structure of pairing them in groups of two. With this option, you will need to make some adjustments with the devotions and challenges because they will not have time to complete them. This option works best when you have a mentoring structure established in your ministry and you want to take already trained volunteers and give them additional content and structure.

Regardless of which option you choose, order the Volunteer Playbook and a Journal for each volunteer and a Student Playbook and a Student Journal for each student in advance. That way you can show volunteers what they will actually be using with their READY students (after they’ve completed their own preparation) they will be mentoring.
